Standards for Adjudicative Guidelines

The United States Government will thoroughly investigate the background of any individual attempting to obtain access to classified information. The level of scrutiny increases as the level of clearance increases. The level of clearance is determined based on the level of harm that the United States could suffer if the classified information were compromised.

The Government pays particular attention to the following 13 Adjudicative Guidelines. We have compiled resources and articles for each guideline, please select a guideline to learn more.
