Adjudicate Guidelines

Guideline D – Sexual Behavior

The United States will review an applicant’s background to determine whether there is any reason to believe that s/he is involved in any sexual behavior or activity that could be illegal, self-destructive, high-risk or that could make the applicant more susceptible to coercion, exploitation, or duress. Unusual sexual behavior that is private and non-criminal should not result in the denial of a security clearance.
